The Theatrical Creation course offered by UArtes, is conceived without division between practice and theory.  It proposes techniques that aims to provide students with a series of techniques and tools for body and conceptual training, taken from various ideo-aesthetic and historical perspectives. The aim is to provide diverse inputs so that each artist in creation is configuring his own poetics. The course identifies the actor/actress as the operator, activator and transformer of the living event that is the theater and proposes a series of questions that simultaneously problematize the different theatrics and the tradition of representation, while providing spaces for experiencing/reflecting, from a perspective of inter-trans-cultural / disciplinary crossings.

GRADUATE PROFILE:

The graduates of the Theater Creation career are able to provoke and produce theatrical events (understanding the theatrical as a matrix that contains multiple variants), as well as to dialogue and reflect critically on the theatricalities and develop projects for / in / about theater. Likewise, they are able to generate meetings, exhibitions, seminars, colloquia and other spaces that promote creation, circulation, dissemination, as well as various forms of knowledge in the area.

«This career understands the student’s body as an interface where their thought and movement are articulated, and from there the opening to experimental-creative-experimental paths are provoked. The program allows a transit through a spectrum of physical, creative, theoretical and historical practices with which the interpreter-creator in training enhances his own physical and cognitive skills. Likewise, it critically addresses what dance, choreography and teaching in this area are in relation to an Ecuadorian context in dialogues with the global scene. «

GRADUATE PROFILE:

Dance students of the University of the Arts will be able to insert themselves in various work scenarios related to this field, such as: creators and performers of stage shows in the dance area, with multi, inter and transdisciplinary dialogues; as managers and executors of autonomous creative or professional ventures in the broad spectrum of stage creation and contemporary dance, researchers in higher education institutes, regional and international organizations, NGOs, foundations, media and periodical publications specialized in performing arts; interpreters in public and / or private companies, groups and independent collectives, dance, theater-dance, or with a physical / cognitive approach to the scene; teachers in technical and / or technological institutes, conservatories, academies, schools and colleges, informal institutions, NGOs and foundations.
