COMUNA – Mobility Program

COMUNAis the International Program for Artistic Residencies and Stays of the University of the Arts. It was created to promote the international mobility of the university community and the exchange of experiences among artists from around the world. COMUNA supports creative processes by transcending borders and bringing cultural diversity into shared workspaces.

Through encounters with diversity, new perspectives, and dialogue among different forms of knowledge, COMUNA seeks to foster an empathetic understanding of our diverse community. For COMUNA, living together in diversity is a driving force for creativity and the production of new knowledge.

By participating in collective creation across cultures, students develop tools to nurture creative processes through difference and interculturality, expand the international circulation of their work and knowledge, and share pedagogical models and creative approaches. COMUNA also offers faculty new academic and creative perspectives that enrich their artistic practice and their teaching and research methodologies.

COMUNA aims to build an international network of artistic residencies involving partner institutions and international teams. This network is intended to generate community-based creative processes and projects related to artistic production, circulation, and arts research.
