Desde 2018 es docente e investigador de la Escuela de Cine de la UArtes y director de sus propios proyectos cinematográficos.
Ph.D. en Estudios Cinematográficos de la Universidad Nueva Sorbona – Paris 3 y tiene una maestría en Cine Documental de la Universidad del Cine (FUC) de Buenos Aires. Su investigación aborda la estética decolonial del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano.
Entre 2011 y 2019 dirigió la Semana de Cine Ecuatoriano de Paris. Ha sido también jurado en festivales de cine (FIDMarseille, Entrevues Belfort) y profesor de la Universidad del Litoral Côte d’Opale en Francia. Desde 2012 es miembro investigador del Instituto de Cine y de la Memoria (IRCAV) de la Universidad Nueva Sorbona.
Sus investigaciones y publicaciones se inscriben en los siguientes campos disciplinarios: la estética, los estudios decoloniales y poscoloniales, la historiografía latinoamericana, la filosofía y la sociología histórica y comparativa.
