Admission Profile

Professionals holding an undergraduate degree with a background related to the field of performing arts, seeking to specialize or deepen their knowledge and competencies in pedagogy, creation, and integrated theoretical-practical research in the field of performing arts.

Graduate Profile (Summary)

Graduates of the Master of Performing Arts program are professionals with the knowledge and skills to promote a critical approach to the performing event. They will be able to explore new ways of engaging with artistic creation and arts research, as well as with performing arts pedagogy through an integrated theoretical-practical approach. Their professional field includes, in addition to university teaching, academic research, and advisory or consulting work in areas related to the performing arts phenomenon and community arts management.

  • Critical Pedagogies in Performing Arts.

  • Research Seminar 1: Research in Performing Arts.
  • Laboratory 1: Bodies and spaces.

  • Movement Studies.
  • Performing Arts Criticism and Analysis.
  • Research Seminar 2: System of Interpretation.
  • Laboratory 2: Performing Arts in the Expanded Field.
  • Degree Completion Unit I: Research Pre-proposal Design.

III

  • Advanced Studies Unit II.
  • Research Seminar 3 (pre-thesis).
  • Laboratory 3: Contemporary Dramaturgies.
  • Degree Completion Unit: Thesis Development.
  • Weekly sessions (Monday through Friday): 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (online)
  • Intensive sessions (one per semester, on a weekends– in-person)

The program runs for one and a half years, during which students complete 3 semesters.

Tuition costs for this program are currently under review.

Scholarship and Discount Program:

  • 15% discount for UArtes community members
    (alumni, faculty, and administrative staff)
  • 15% discount for individuals registered in the Registro Único de Actores Culturales (RUAC)
  • 5% referral discount
    (applicable only to individuals who are NOT registered in the RUAC and do NOT belong to the UArtes community)
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from academics and/or professionals in the field of performing arts.
  • Submit the general guidelines form for the research pre-proposal.
  • Submit a curriculum vitae with copies of professional and academic certificates.
  • Submit a statement of purpose outlining the applicant's motivations for pursuing the program.
  • Submit a professional portfolio including artistic production.
  • Attend an interview with the Master's Committee.
  • Complete the UArtes Graduate Program admission forms correctly and within the established deadlines.
  • Complete all required enrollment and tuition payment procedures as established by UArtes.

  • Color photocopy of national ID or passport.
  • Copy of undergraduate degree or its legal equivalent.
  • Copy of degree registration in SENESCYT.
  • For degrees obtained abroad: copy of the degree duly apostilled or legalized through consular channels.
