This program is designed to train writers to work versatilely in the development of writing projects aimed at the creation of literary works, screenplays, and nonfiction texts. It offers a unique academic experience in which laboratories and seminars explore the many possibilities of critical imagination and creative work for the mastery of the written word.
Professionals holding a bachelor's degree in a field related to literature, the arts, education, social sciences, journalism, or communication. Also eligible are graduates in audiovisual techniques, multimedia and audiovisual production, social sciences, or the humanities in general.
Graduate Profile (Summary)
Graduates of the program are prepared to work across diverse areas of creative writing: production of literary works, scripts, and screenplays for print, theater, radio, film, or television. They may also work as writers or consultants in content production for music, digital media, audiovisual platforms, and other fields. Graduates may likewise pursue careers in teaching, publishing, or communications departments of public and private institutions.
Submit two letters of recommendation from academics and/or professionals in the field of literature.
Submit a creative writing sample of your own.
Submit a curriculum vitae with copies of professional and academic certificates.
Submit a statement of purpose outlining the applicant's motivations for pursuing the program.
Complete an interview with the Program Committee.
Complete the UArtes Graduate Program admission forms correctly and within the established deadlines.
Complete all required enrollment and tuition payment procedures as established by UArtes.

Copy of Bachelor's Degree obtained in Ecuador registered in the Senescyt and, in case of foreigners, the degree apostilled or legalized by consular means.
La ceremonia de graduación que la Universidad de las Artes y su Escuela de Posgrados celebraron este 21 de agosto de la nueva cohorte de magísteres observó la solemnidad y emotividad propias del momento, sin embargo, la edición de este año marcó un precedente inolvidable al situar a la música como la gran protagonista de la jornada, transformando el protocolo habitual en una experiencia artística envolvente.
Diez sobre diez es el puntaje que obtuvieron Álex Hincapié y Carlos Murgueitio, graduados de la Maestría en Composición Musical y Artes Sonoras por la Universidad de las Artes. En la ceremonia donde recibieron sus títulos, junto a los 33 de los 42 incorporados que estuvieron presentes, dieron sus discursos de manera alternada; agradecieron a la UArtes, a sus docentes y a sus compañeros de cohorte.
Evocando el pensamiento del novelista, poeta, traductor y entomólogo ruso-estadounidense Vladímir Nabokov sobre la memoria y el valor de los detalles esenciales, el rector Saidel Brito ofreció a los graduados de los programas de maestría de la Escuela de Posgrados un reflexivo discurso en el que los invitó a asumir la creación artística como un ejercicio de empatía frente a la polarización social.
