This program is designed to train writers to work versatilely in the development of writing projects aimed at the creation of literary works, screenplays, and nonfiction texts. It offers a unique academic experience in which laboratories and seminars explore the many possibilities of critical imagination and creative work for the mastery of the written word.
Professionals holding a bachelor's degree in a field related to literature, the arts, education, social sciences, journalism, or communication. Also eligible are graduates in audiovisual techniques, multimedia and audiovisual production, social sciences, or the humanities in general.
Graduate Profile (Summary)
Graduates of the program are prepared to work across diverse areas of creative writing: production of literary works, scripts, and screenplays for print, theater, radio, film, or television. They may also work as writers or consultants in content production for music, digital media, audiovisual platforms, and other fields. Graduates may likewise pursue careers in teaching, publishing, or communications departments of public and private institutions.
Submit two letters of recommendation from academics and/or professionals in the field of literature.
Submit a creative writing sample of your own.
Submit a curriculum vitae with copies of professional and academic certificates.
Submit a motivation letter outlining the applicant's reasons for pursuing the master's program.
Conduct an interview with the Program Committee.
Complete the UArtes Graduate Program admission forms correctly and within the established deadlines.
Complete all administrative procedures and payment of tuition and enrollment fees as established by UArtes.

Copy of Bachelor's Degree obtained in Ecuador registered in the Senescyt and, in case of foreigners, the degree apostilled or legalized by consular means.
Pedro González, estudiante de la Maestría en Artes Visuales y Nuevos Medios de la Universidad de las Artes, presentó en la Plaza Pública del MZ14 Centro de Producción e Innovación una instalación performática audiovisual, que tuvo como componentes una proyección multicanal y una mezcla de señales analógicas y digitales. La comunidad universitaria y el público que se dio cita fueron invitados a no mirar desde afuera, sino a habitar el interior de la cabina que estalla.
Artista visual, investigador y académico, el coordinador de la Maestría en Artes Visuales y Nuevos Medios de la Universidad de las Artes, Ilich Castillo, suma un reconocimiento más a su fructífera y reconocida trayectoria nacional e internacional: el Premio Nuevo Mariano Aguilera, que en este año llegó a su sexta edición. Ganó en la categoría Creación Artística por “Microgramas”, un proyecto que tiene carácter de inédito y de work in progress por el cual recibió una beca.
Organizar el Festival Internacional de Cine Social desde las Vísceras fue para dos colectivos de graduados de la primera cohorte de la Maestría en Cine Documental de la Universidad de las Artes el primer paso de una segunda propuesta, la cual les permitiría proyectar cortos documentales y de ficción que visibilizaran problemáticas sociales contemporáneas y llevar al papel y lo digital artículos relacionados. Es así como nació la revista que lleva el nombre de la cita y que se presentó en su inauguración.
