Electoral Process for Student Representatives to the University Council and School Boards

Call for Elections

The Electoral Tribunal of the University of the Arts, exercising the powers conferred upon it by the Elections Regulations, hereby calls upon the student community to participate in the democratic process to elect student representatives to the University Council and the School Boards for the 2026–2027 term. This electoral process represents a fundamental opportunity to exercise students' rights to participation and representation, ensuring that the student voice is heard within the institution's governing bodies.

Candidate registration will be open from February 5 to February 11, 2026, through the email address tribunal.elecciones@uartes.edu.ec. Regular students from the Schools of Film, Literature, Visual Arts, Sound Arts, Performing Arts, and Graduate Studies may apply, provided they meet the requirements set forth in the Regulations, including maintaining an academic average equivalent to or higher than "very good," having completed at least 50% of their curriculum, and submitting a work plan. Candidacies must be registered as a ticket composed of a principal candidate and an alternate, ensuring gender parity in accordance with current regulations.

Election day will take place on March 18, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., through electronic voting via the institutional platform. Elected representatives will take office on April 1, 2026. The Electoral Tribunal guarantees a transparent, democratic, and inclusive process, promoting participation from all student sectors under the principles of equal opportunity, rotation in office, and non-discrimination.
