Escritora, docente e investigadora. Es profesora titular de la Universidad de las Artes, donde ha sido docente de literatura ecuatoriana y teoría y práctica literaria narrativa, entre otras cátedras. Ha dictado talleres de escritura creativa de relatos en la Casa Morada desde el año 2000 y ha participado con ponencias y presentaciones sobre literatura ecuatoriana y latinoamericana en Bogotá, Perú, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, España, EE.UU. e Italia. Desde el 2018 mantiene las jornadas de diálogo con autores ecuatorianos “Es país para cuentistas” que cuenta ya con 7 ediciones.
Su tesis de maestría trató sobre el tema de la ficción prospectiva y el fin del mundo en la obra de autores guayaquileños del siglo XIX y siglo XX, y más tarde, propuso una investigación sobre el mismo tema estudiando la obra apocalíptica de autores quiteños contemporáneos. Sus investigaciones han abarcado el cuento y los relatos cortos de autores latinoamericanos enfocándose en los géneros de la imaginación fantástica. “La irrealidad y nada más que la irrealidad”; “Ajuste de cuentos: 20 años de antologías de relato en Ecuador”; “La cuarta edad: ciencia ficción y vejez en la literatura ecuatoriana” y “Arrebatadas: lo que enseñan a las mujeres los cuentos de miedo”, han sido algunos de sus trabajos expuestos en congresos nacionales e internacionales.
