Foundation Course

The Foundation Course at Universidad de las Artes is designed to develop and strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for entry into the university’s undergraduate programs. Its goal is to support student retention through prior academic preparation.

The Foundation Course lasts 12 weeks and is offered once per academic term, meaning twice a year. To successfully complete the course, students must attend at least 75% of classes, achieve a minimum grade of 7/10 in each subject, and take all the required courses for their chosen degree program. It is important to note that there is no opportunity for course recovery.

Career-Leveling Courses

The Career-Leveling Program is structured into subjects divided into two groups: core subjects and specialized courses relevant to each artistic discipline.

Admission Preparation Courses

For those seeking to refine their artistic skills before the admission process, the University of the Arts, through its Continuing Education Department, offers preparatory courses. These courses will be available before the Leveling Program, lasting up to six weeks, or in some cases, they may run parallel to the 12-week Leveling Program. Participants will receive a certificate of participation, which can be included in their CV and admission documents when applying to UArtes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Applicants who have successfully completed the UArtes admission process and obtained a university placement through Senescyt. The University will provide timely information regarding enrollment dates for those who have secured a spot. The official calendar will also be shared through institutional communication channels.

Once the candidate passes the UArtes admission process, they must complete their application and placement acceptance on the Senescyt platform during the designated dates. A valid account and an active exam score or registration for the Transformar exam are required. 

The Academic Secretariat of UArtes will contact successful applicants via email with details on: Document submission deadlines, Profile creation for access to academic platforms, Enrollment dates for the Leveling Program, Start of classes 

If a student chooses another university, they must complete the higher education return process with Senescyt and notify their previous institution.

Si el aspirante no ingresa a la Nivelación y realizará un cambio a otra universidad, deberá realizar el proceso de retorno a la educación superior con la Senescyt, para esto deberá informar a la institución en donde previamente obtuvo el cupo.

If a student does not use their assigned placement immediately, they must communicate with the Leveling Department and Academic Secretariat, presenting valid justification documents for delays due to family emergencies, health issues, or work commitments. 

If a student fails, they may re-enroll once—there is no third opportunity. The second enrollment will not be covered under the free tuition policy.

Si el aspirante, reprueba por segunda vez la Nivelación, deberá volver a realizar el proceso de admisión. No existen terceras matrículas en Nivelación.

If a student cannot enroll in their first semester due to serious personal circumstances, they must inform the university with supporting documents. The university will allow enrollment within a maximum of four academic terms after passing the Leveling Program.

If a student fails a subject within the Leveling Program, they must retake and pass it before officially entering their chosen artistic career path.
