Admission Profile

Professionals with a third level degree who have a career related to the field of performing arts, and are looking for specialization or deepening of knowledge and skills in pedagogy, creation and integrated theoretical-practical research in the field of performing arts.

Summary of the graduate profile

The graduate of the master's program in performing arts is a professional with knowledge and skills that promote a critical approach to the performing event. He/she will be able to explore new ways of accessing artistic creation and research, as well as the pedagogy of the performing arts from an integrated theoretical-practical approach. In addition to university teaching, his or her field of work includes academic research and advisory or consulting services in areas related to the performing arts phenomenon and community arts management.

  • Critical Pedagogies in Performing Arts.
  • Deepening Unit I.
  • Research Seminar 1: Research in Performing Arts.
  • Laboratory 1: Bodies and spaces.

II

 

  • Movement Studies.
  • Criticism and Analysis of the Performing Arts.
  • Research Seminar 2: Performance System.
  • Laboratory 2: Performing Arts in the expanded field.
  • Graduation Unit I: Pre-project design.

III

  • Deepening Unit II.
  • Research Seminar 3 (pre-thesis).
  • Laboratory 3: Contemporary Dramaturgies.
  • Graduation Unit: Thesis development.
  • Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00.
  • Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The program has a duration of 1 year and a half, in which the student takes 3 semesters.

The costs for this master's degree are under review.

  • Two letters of recommendation from academics and/or professionals in the performing arts field.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from academics and/or professionals in the performing arts field.
  • Submit a curriculum vitae with copies of professional and educational certificates.
  • Submit a letter of motivation that explains your interests in pursuing a Master's degree.
  • Submit a professional portfolio with artistic production.
  • Interview with the Master's Committee.
  • Properly complete the admission forms for the UArtes Graduate Program within the established deadline.
  • Complete all other formalities and procedures for the payment of tuition and fees established by UArtes.

Required Documentation

  • Color photocopy of identity card or passport.
  • Copy of Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent according to the Law.
  • Copy of degree registration in SENESCYT.
  • In the event of having obtained the Bachelor's Degree abroad: Copy of the degree duly apostilled or legalized by consular means.

    “Fantasmas en la máquina” desde el testimonio; muestra de Artes Visuales y Nuevos Medios tuvo varias actividades

    La inauguración de la muestra “Fantasmas en la máquina”, propuesta por la Escuela de Posgrados y su maestría en Artes Visuales y Nuevos Medios, no solo permitió conocer resultados de procesos creativos, sino que propició visitas guiadas para la comunidad UArtes, para instituciones educativas y público en general y constó en la agenda de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Guayaquil (FAU UG).
