Programs and Projects

Community engagement programs bring together projects that share a common objective and contribute to local, national, or regional development. These initiatives are directed toward clearly identified communities, respond to the concrete needs of their contexts, and align with the institutional objectives of the University of the Arts.

Through these programs, the University promotes processes of training, creation, circulation, participation, and collaborative work with diverse territories, groups, organizations, and communities.

Institutional Programs

Community engagement at the University of the Arts is organized through institutional programs that group projects according to their objectives, working approaches, and participating populations.

Territories and Diversities

This program fosters encounter and the collaborative construction of knowledge between the University of the Arts and diverse communities. Its purpose is to strengthen the dialogue of knowledges and to recognize the arts as tools for sociocultural transformation, community empowerment, and the addressing of social issues.

Arts Education for Children and Adolescents

This program develops extracurricular arts education processes aimed at children and adolescents, with the goal of contributing to the exercise of their cultural rights and strengthening their creative capacities.

Production and Circulation of Artistic and Creative Practices

This program promotes the production, circulation, and dissemination of artistic and creative practices and knowledge together with different communities, with the aim of contributing to the democratization of access to the arts.

Continuing Education

This program develops courses, seminars, workshops, discussions, conferences, and other training initiatives aimed at the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening of capacities.

Community engagement projects

Community engagement projects are sets of duly planned activities and processes aimed at transforming a specific reality or contributing to the solution of a concrete issue.

At the University of the Arts, all community engagement projects fall under one of the institutional programs. They also constitute an important space for students' pre-professional practice and community service.
